Steavens Poundcake 50 3 Channel Tube Guitar Amp Head.

So if you happen to be a tube amp nerd, this is a bit of a legendary amp:)

Steavens amps were made in Germany and discontinued 15 years ago. They are STELLAR handmade amp builds that are nearly impossible to find. Why? Because the guys who buy them hang onto them!

This is obviously the 50-watt model, which I would greatly prefer over the 100 watt version. 50 watts allows you to turn it up just a little more than you would with the 100 to get the tubes driving more easily. Don’t get me wrong, its still WAY loud enough for anything you are going to do, but personally I always opt for the 50 watt version of an amp for this reason.

The amp sounds killer. I played this amp at rehearsal and it is the ONLY amp that I have ever felt was able to keep up with my Soldano Decatone. I don’t know of any higher praise than that.

The amp is in great condition as you can see, and comes with the original footswitch which is something you have to have with this amp.

The features on it are all ultra-useful. This is simply a well designed, tone monster. If you have ever wanted to try one of these, now is the time because they seldom come up for sale.

About
In 1987 Bernhard Stephan, founder of Steavens Custom Amplification started his professional career, working for Valley Arts Guitars as a technician.

One year later he had the opportunity to build the rack systems for Matthias Jabs and Rudolph Schenker of Germany´s most favourite rock band “The Scorpions”. He also joined them for two weeks on their Savage Amusement US tour.

Back in Germany, he developed multi channel modifications mainly for Marshall amps. Next to more knobs he´s adding all the modifications on printed circuit boards to guarantee reliable operation and maintaining the high built quality.

More Gain, additional channels and more TONE were the ingredients to make a true Rock amplifire. Leaving the deep trodden paths in the direction towards innovative amp design without disregarding experience from the past, Steavens Custom Amplification was founded in 1988.

Introduced in 1991, the first sold STEAVENS product was the RadioActivator pre amplifier. Three channels with two switch able sections offered outstanding performance and features such as MIDI switching of channels and several boosts. Two years later the four channel PoundCake 100Watt head was born and is still part of the Steavens product line.

All Steavens products are the result of uncompromising design, top notch built quality and the use of only the best components available. A careful fine-tuning took some time to achieve the tone quality that cut through any mix and versatility, appreciated and needed by the working musician.

Notable users of Steavens amps:
Michael Wilton-Queensryche, Reb Beach-Winger Ian Crichton-Saga, as well as Luther Allison.
