2008 Fender Custom Shop Clapton 10th Anniversary Crossroads Antigua Strat-Only 100 Made-Mint!!!

In the 1970s Fender introduced the Antigua finish on a number of models from the flagship Stratocaster to the classic Coronado Bass.Described as a “rich antique-white finish with halo-mist shading,” it was a stunner – and became highly prized among collectors around the world.

In 1988 Fender released its first ever signature model guitar – the Eric Clapton Stratocaster. Several Variations of the model have been released since, from Custom Shop Specialties to the current Artist Series model.

In 1998 Eric Clapton`s vision of opening a world-class drug and alcohol treatment center on the island of Antigua became a reality. The non-profit Crossroads Center has developed into an internationally recognized treatment center providing services to individuals and their families suffering from the devastating effects of addiction.

In 2008 Richard Ash, Co-CEO of Sam Ash Music had an idea to incorporate the spirit of the Eric Clapton Stratocaster with the Spirit of the Crossroad Center.He commissioned a limited run of 100 pieces of the signature model in the classic Antigua finish along with a commitment to donate $100,000 to the Crossroads Center and that us how the Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster was born.

This exclusive instrument is currently being built by the Fender Custom Shop. These highly collectible guitars will be available on a first come, first served basis. Features include a select Alder body, 1-piece Maple neck with soft “V” shape, 22 vintage style frets, 3 vintage noiseless pickups,“blocked” American Vintage synchronized tremolo and vintage black case. Each instrument will be indicidually numbered from 1 to 100 and come with an official certificate of authenticity.
