1996 Fender Jag-Stang MIJ Sonic Blue W/Fender Soft Case.
Very cool MIJ Fender Jag-Stang from 1996.
This one is in Sonic Blue. Very good condition, there are a few dings and dents present that are clearly pictured.
Great playing guitar, the neck is straight and the frets show no wear. I don’t think it has been played much if at all.
Comes as pictured with soft Fender case and various case candy and paperwork.

Fender Jag-Stangs
The Kurt Cobain legacy lives on through the creation of Fender’s new JAG-STANG guitar. Joining the Stratocaster® and Telecaster® as Fender instruments which have helped define and influence a vast array of musical styles, the JAG-STANG captures Cobain’s personality and sound as represented in his work with Nirvana. Prior to his death, Cobain worked closely with Fender to design a guitar to his specifications. The result is a unique collision of contemporary features, drawing its influence from the Fender Jaguar® (“JAG”) and Mustang® (“STANG”) guitars.
Up until now, the JAG-STANG was a one of a kind Fender Custom Shop instrument played only by Kurt. Now, with the approval of Cobain’s estate, Fender has elected to put the JAG-STANG into production with the same original specifications and high quality standards at an affordable price.
The JAG-STANG delivers a wide range of tones by incorporating a traditional vintage Stratocaster pickup near the neck and a full range humbucking pickup near the “floating” bridge. Each pickup has its own 3 position slide switch with the neck pickup switch featuring a selectable “out of phase” mode. A master volume and tone control allows increased control and flexibility.
The 24″ scale, maple neck with 22 frets on the rosewood fingerboard creates a comfortable relationship between tonal range and overall balance of the instrument. Fender’s “Dynamic” vibrato system adds to the versatility of the overall design and increases the guitar’s creative capability.
“The JAG-STANG styling is very ‘Fender-ish’, but then again, far removed from guitars that we’ve offered up until now,” said Joe Carducci, Marketing Manager, Fender Imported Electric Guitars. “I feel that a guitarist with an untraditional attitude who desires an instrument with tone that speaks traditionally will gravitate to the JAG-STANG.”
