RICKENBACKER produced the 355JL JOHN LENNON LIMITED EDITION between 1990 and 1994. A total of 691 were made and each came with a certificate of authenticity. The John Lennon Limited Edition was entirely handmade in America from solid Eastern Rock Maple with a rosewood fingerboard. The 355JL came with a vintage vibrato as standard (a unique feature within the Rickenbacker product line). Rickenbacker also located some of the original tooling which allowed faithful recreation of the original headstock, pickguard and nameplate. The bi-level white pickguard has a John Lennon signature and one of John’s self portrait cartoons.
Also available in this limited edition JL series was a 3/4 size 325JL model and a 12 string 355/12 JLmodel.
