1980 Gibson Heritage Series Standard Elite 80 Les Paul Guitar-Cherry Burst-W/OHSC

If you are reading this, you know what it is.

9.9lbs

This is a STELLAR example of the rare, Heritage Series Standard 80 Elite.

Guitar is all original other than a refret and it is in excellent+ condition. The only minuscule marks are some VERY light finish checking on the back of the neck. I did attempt to get it to show under bright lighting, but honestly you can only see it from certain angles. Very, very common on a vintage guitar like this that is 40+ years old and nothing that really detracts from its beauty or value.

Neck is straight, no fretwear, it plays beautifully.

This is not an overly flamed example, but it is great looking and shows some nice figuring on the top.

This is a prime example of the first Gibson ’59 Les Paul reissue and you will be hard pressed to find one in nicer condition.

Comes as pictured with original case.

The First Vintage Reissue 1959 Les Paul Standard

Starting the 59 reissue era

It all started back in the late 70´s when different shops requested Gibson to make a guitar that had the same features as the 1959 Les Paul Standard, the first models that Gibson attempted to build were far from the real deal. But at some point the Nashville factory set out to release the Heritage Series 80.

The early 1980s marked a period of transition for Gibson, as the company experimented with various manufacturing techniques and materials due to changing market demands. The Heritage Series aimed to reintroduce the quality and craftsmanship of vintage Les Paul guitars to a new generation of players. While the Heritage Series guitars were not exact replicas of their 1950s counterparts, they were highly regarded for their attention to detail and overall build quality. These have now become highly collectable and sought after by players and collectors alike they were only produced between 1980- 1982 with only around 2000 Guitars total.
